On Tuesday April 24th 2012, The Government Services Administration hosted an Earth Day event at the U.S. Federal Government’s flagship building in New York City, 26 Federal Plaza.
The GSA has shown a strong commitment in environmental sustainability and energy conservation programs. As such, 26 Federal Plaza is enrolled in an electric grid reliability program called “Demand Response” with NuEnergen. With NuEnergen, the GSA is saving taxpayers +$100,000s per year while also acting as a good neighbor by helping to avoid regional black-outs. Many companies participated in the Earth Day festivities including NuEnergen.
All who participated shared many bright ideas and services that ultimately lead to a cleaner and less energy-intensive footprint for our planet. GSA employees and guests were pleased while greeting each other with curious eyes for what innovative ideas/strategies exist for making a positive environmental impact. As part of the festivities, Kevin Hamilton, CEO of NuEnergen, along with members of the NuEnergen team, were invited to assist Ms. Denise Pease, Regional Administrator of the GSA – NorthEast & Caribbean, and children in the planting of Spring flowers on-site. Other GSA participants included Mr. Ben Kochanski, Deputy Regional Administrator, Mr. Brian Magden, Regional Energy Coordinator & Mr. Robert Pajer, Chief of the Energy and Sustainability Branch, Northeast and Caribbean Region.
“As a partner with the U.S. Federal Government with respect to energy sustainability initiatives, NuEnergen was pleased to participate in the GSA Earth Day festivities. GSA Region 2 continues to take a solid leadership posture on many energy conservation fronts and we are delighted to be their partner,” said Kevin Hamilton, CEO of NuEnergen. A productive and enlightening time was had by all.
